Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is one of our most requested cosmetic procedures. We have several options to choose from:

  • Fat
  • Juvederm®
  • Collagen

Fat: We remove a small amount of fat from your tummy or thigh. After treating the fat with a special process, we can then inject the fat into your lips, or face. This process takes your own fat and collagen which is then re-injected. It provides a lasting result. This process is also used to fill or augment other aspects of the face including minor wrinkles. Because we use your own fat this procedure is more affordable.

Cymetra: This is Alloderm in a syringe. Cymetra is very easy to work with and inject and although not permanent, Cymetra will provide you with excellent lasting results when used for lip augmentation.

Collagen: The standard that has been in use for more than 20 years. Although not as long lasting, collagen is more affordable than other lip augmentation procedures. We provide free skin testing for potential candidates.

Other injectable products are under investigation by the FDA and once approved Dr. Miremadi will be offering these in the Center.

Frequently Asked Questions for Lip Augmentation:

  • What methods are available for lip augmentation, and which is best for me?
    • Methods include injectable fillers (such as hyaluronic acid), fat grafting, and lip implants. We’ll assess your lip shape and discuss your preferences to determine the most suitable method for achieving your desired look.
  • How long do the effects of lip augmentation last, and how often will I need touch-ups?
    • Results from injectable fillers typically last 6 to 12 months, while fat grafting may last longer. Lip implants provide permanent results. Touch-ups are needed based on the type of augmentation used.
  • Are there any side effects or risks associated with lip augmentation?
    • Common side effects include swelling, bruising, or temporary discomfort. More serious risks, though rare, include infection or asymmetry. We’ll discuss these in detail and how we manage them during your consultation.
  • What is the recovery process like after lip augmentation?
    • Recovery usually involves some swelling and tenderness that resolves within a few days. You can return to normal activities quickly, but avoiding strenuous activities and following post-care instructions will help ensure the best results.
  • How should I prepare for my lip augmentation procedure, and are there any post-procedure guidelines I should follow?
    • Prepare by avoiding blood thinners and alcohol before the procedure. Afterward, follow instructions such as avoiding touching or massaging your lips and using prescribed ointments. We’ll provide specific pre- and post-care guidelines to help you achieve optimal results.
